The Business of Bliss – what I was preparing to share!

No one is more surprised than I am that I did not present at the Business of Bliss event. I had been very much looking forward to this particular presentation because of what the day stood for: finding and having the courage to live our best life, a life driven by purpose.

It seems strange, then, that while I do know that I am living a soulfully driven and purposeful life, and I have broken through barriers and jumped over hurdles to follow my heart and purpose, I decided not to attend.

So you may ask, “What happened?”

Well, it was brought to my attention that someone was outraged about my presenting and threatened to take action. After much consideration I felt strongly that this person was upset enough that they might cause a big disturbance at the event and, in doing so, change the essence of the day.

For me, the risk was too high, and so, in consideration of the many other people whom this could affect, I chose to step away. With that said, I am happy to say that in spite of a strong reasoning mind that said, “Go – you worked too hard and invested too much to step away now!” my wise heart whispers, “You did the most loving and compassionate thing for all.”

Many of us face this tug of war! With the logic of the mind pulling on one side of us, and the gut or the heart (and sometimes both!) on the other side, we become immobilized. In the wake of this conflict we are tempted to sit, paralyzed in non-action. Or, depending on our natures, some of us make a rash impulsive choice that is based upon fear of some kind. (This is where I was heading before I went back to the basic rule of being present with what is NOW.) In the end, when fear is engulfing us, neither of these reactions is the best we are capable of.

So when you are faced with a tough decision, how do you know which is the “right” choice? Well, it is not really a matter of right or wrong – good or bad – because all choices will have both perceived positives and negatives in them. What is deemed positive or negative, good or bad, is subjective; it depends upon a particular goal. It is really a question of which outcome serves as a testament to what we stand for in life. If our choice serves us in this way, it will ultimately serve those around us!

The next exploration we can make together is that of how our choices affect or even set the stage for finding and living our most purposeful life.

This is a topic about which I am passionate and in which, I do believe, I have tons of experience. My own life has been driven by this life purpose thing, and it has brought me to today where I am doing things that I never dreamt were really possible given my turbulent upbringing and difficult early adult life.

What I have learned is that your destiny or fate will find you! And it is the fight against its arrival that is most painful. In fact, it is the logical reasoning mind, which can’t assimilate the necessary “ingredients” or life experiences that are needed to fulfill the soul’s plan, that brings about our emotional stress. And because we are not always aware of where the soul is taking us, we put on the brakes and say “NO” to events and choices that seem wrong.

This is what I did at first, but then I quickly remembered what my life has already proven to me: there is an intelligent Life Force guiding me.

If we can begin with an assumption that all things are in fact moving us towards our best life, we can calm down enough to listen to our inner wisdom and get into the NOW, where Truth and Love prevail. And in as much as this caller seemed to be altering my direction, the truth must be that this person is a needed part of where I am heading next! They are an ingredient. Let me explain.

Most of the things I am truly brilliant at doing I was not conventionally trained to do. And yet as a child I seemed to have arrived on the planet with talents that were inherent. Much like Michelangelo was a born an artist, or Beethoven a composer, I was born a wise seer and guide, and my life experiences helped give shape to that talent.

Then, being called by my “tribe” (meaning my community) to serve them with this ability, I took on the roles of writer, speaker, coach, mediator and mentor. I use my abilities to help others because all soul abilities are meant to serve humanity.

This is what I wanted to share at the Business of Bliss event. We can’t really “screw up” our life; we only think we can! And the soul will use all experiences and relationships to propel us forward, to fulfill its purpose here on earth.

Here are the questions that will help you to know what your soul talent is:

• What do people ask me to do all the time?

• What talent or service do I do that I find easy, but which others seem so amazed by?

• What do I love to do now and what did I love to do as a child?

• What were the experiences that most shaped my life?

• What was the most valuable thing I took from the hardest challenges I overcame?

• What do I do that inspires me or others?

Lastly, I wanted to share that the people in your life won’t necessarily cheer you on to go for your dreams and passions, but your soul will – and that IS enough!

Wishing you all a blessed and passion-filled journey.

Love,

Moreah
