The Business of Bliss – what I was preparing to share!

No one is more surprised than I am that I did not present at the Business of Bliss event. I had been very much looking forward to this particular presentation because of what the day stood for: finding and having the courage to live our best life, a life driven by purpose.
It seems strange, then, that while I do know that I am living a soulfully driven and purposeful life, and I have broken through barriers and jumped over hurdles to follow my heart and purpose, I decided not to attend.
So you may ask, “What happened?”
Well, it was brought to my attention that someone was outraged about my presenting and threatened to take action. After much consideration I felt strongly that this person was upset enough that they might cause a big disturbance at the event and, in doing so, change the essence of the day.
For me, the risk was too high, and so, in consideration of the many other people whom this could affect, I chose to step away. With that said, I am happy to say that in spite of a strong reasoning mind that said, “Go – you worked too hard and invested too much to step away now!” my wise heart whispers, “You did the most loving and compassionate thing for all.”
Many of us face this tug of war! With the logic of the mind pulling on one side of us, and the gut or the heart (and sometimes both!) on the other side, we become immobilized. In the wake of this conflict we are tempted to sit, paralyzed in non-action. Or, depending on our natures, some of us make a rash impulsive choice that is based upon fear of some kind. (This is where I was heading before I went back to the basic rule of being present with what is NOW.) In the end, when fear is engulfing us, neither of these reactions is the best we are capable of.
So when you are faced with a tough decision, how do you know which is the “right” choice? Well, it is not really a matter of right or wrong – good or bad – because all choices will have both perceived positives and negatives in them. What is deemed positive or negative, good or bad, is subjective; it depends upon a particular goal. It is really a question of which outcome serves as a testament to what we stand for in life. If our choice serves us in this way, it will ultimately serve those around us!
The next exploration we can make together is that of how our choices affect or even set the stage for finding and living our most purposeful life.
This is a topic about which I am passionate and in which, I do believe, I have tons of experience. My own life has been driven by this life purpose thing, and it has brought me to today where I am doing things that I never dreamt were really possible given my turbulent upbringing and difficult early adult life.
What I have learned is that your destiny or fate will find you! And it is the fight against its arrival that is most painful. In fact, it is the logical reasoning mind, which can’t assimilate the necessary “ingredients” or life experiences that are needed to fulfill the soul’s plan, that brings about our emotional stress. And because we are not always aware of where the soul is taking us, we put on the brakes and say “NO” to events and choices that seem wrong.
This is what I did at first, but then I quickly remembered what my life has already proven to me: there is an intelligent Life Force guiding me.
If we can begin with an assumption that all things are in fact moving us towards our best life, we can calm down enough to listen to our inner wisdom and get into the NOW, where Truth and Love prevail. And in as much as this caller seemed to be altering my direction, the truth must be that this person is a needed part of where I am heading next! They are an ingredient. Let me explain.
Most of the things I am truly brilliant at doing I was not conventionally trained to do. And yet as a child I seemed to have arrived on the planet with talents that were inherent. Much like Michelangelo was a born an artist, or Beethoven a composer, I was born a wise seer and guide, and my life experiences helped give shape to that talent.
Then, being called by my “tribe” (meaning my community) to serve them with this ability, I took on the roles of writer, speaker, coach, mediator and mentor. I use my abilities to help others because all soul abilities are meant to serve humanity.
This is what I wanted to share at the Business of Bliss event. We can’t really “screw up” our life; we only think we can! And the soul will use all experiences and relationships to propel us forward, to fulfill its purpose here on earth.
Here are the questions that will help you to know what your soul talent is:
• What do people ask me to do all the time?
• What talent or service do I do that I find easy, but which others seem so amazed by?
• What do I love to do now and what did I love to do as a child?
• What were the experiences that most shaped my life?
• What was the most valuable thing I took from the hardest challenges I overcame?
• What do I do that inspires me or others?
Lastly, I wanted to share that the people in your life won’t necessarily cheer you on to go for your dreams and passions, but your soul will – and that IS enough!
Wishing you all a blessed and passion-filled journey.
Love,
Moreah

I went for a long bike ride today–without my I-pod ON!
Often it is music, an audio book, or lecture that I listen too, as I run, hike, roller blade, or cycle to sustain my shapely self.
However, I realized that being in nature today could include listening to birds chirping, and wind rustling through fields of hay. I spent time “feeling” not doing the experience of cycling. As the cool wind glided over me I reflected upon God. Not as a Mystical Being, or Fatherly figure but as a presence. In doing so, I knew that God was everywhere. There IT was just allowing me to be a part of that moment. It Being both the Giver and Receiver of all.
It is funny to be in nature and see how its “occupants” the grasses, leaves, branches, animals, insects etc.. know to allow themselves to be moved, rained upon, shook, and trampled on, without resistance of any kind. Gratefully this morning, we all allowed the sun to shine upon us with warm rays of golden light! It was awesome!
I ended the ride with a strong remembrance; that I as we all are, am an intrical and somewhat sacred part of a Cosmic Dance to rejoice in.

Can You Really Find Bliss in Calgary?

The Business of BLISS!
Allowing what you love to do; and spending countless hours in a state of deep heartfelt satisfaction is the way we can all lead our lives! The reason why we don’t is because we do not truly believe it is possible, and so we take seriously the “false evidence” that comes from our doubt, to prevent us from following our life’s real purpose. To do what we love, and get paid in numerous ways including cash to do so, is what the Business of Bliss all-day seminar is about.
Each of the days presenters will share what they know to be true to help YOU find and achieve your best life!
I am so excited to share the stage with Martha Beck, Peter Walsh, and Candace Bushnell, on October 5th at the Telus Convention Centre in Calgary, AB. One thing we all have in common is that we all went for our dream in spite of what our inner critic, friends and family may have said. Safety is not what we were looking for, authenticity of life purpose was! And we would rather follow that inner call than settle for mediocre.
Last year I coached a client, who had spent the past year listening to his heart, and soul. The general message was “it’s a nice life but not OUR true life. Listening to this inner wisdom meant leaving the wife and life he felt “safe” in. He was making a great income but was not happy.
I shared with him that I felt that the most tragic thing a person could do to themselves was to ignore the voice of their Spirit. That a person must face incredible grief at the last breath they take if they did not head the call of their wise inner voice.
Then as I predicted would happen–a sequence of events began to transpire for him which upped the ante. He needed to make a decision. But to what or whom would he be loyal now? Will it be, his inner wise Self or will it be the societal norms and expectations and that oh-so-destructive inner cynic?
He discovered that the company he worked for was not at all loyal to him. They were like so many of us looking out for their own best interests. They were invested in making their goals and dreams happen. Mulling this awareness around he was getting more miserable and that nagging feeling became intolerable-so he quit!
Months previously, we had made a list of the things he loved to do and apparently was naturally talented at. I shared with him that he could create a business based on that, and that it would succeed. We did this exercise because I explained to him that we can always make a nice living doing what we love, because money is NOT the motivator, passion and authenticity is!
Well he is well on his path, facing his inner critic maturely, by hearing but not taking seriously the vicious thoughts it can offer him. He is following his dream, and changing lives by doing it.

Is It Time to Leave Your Relationship?
May 8, 2009 by admin
I can’t begin to share with you how many times I have been asked the million-dollar question,
“How do I know whether it is time to leave this relationship or keep working on it?”
The answer varies for each person, and deep inner searching is vital. In part, your answer depends on two primary factors:
* your level of unhappiness and dissatisfaction, or the outward “pull” you feel to leave
* your honest conscious self-exploration of feelings, beliefs and behaviors
Professional experience has proven to me that depending upon an individual’s level of commitment, and to what or whom, the question can be simple or complex. The answer to “Is it time to leave the relationship or stay and work at it?” can be clear and obvious or clouded by fear and ambiguity. Why so?
Well, I think it has a lot to do with our beliefs about love and commitment, success and failure. My discovery shows that for many, the answer is eclipsed by what they believe about love, its meaning, responsibility and purpose.
Another belief we must explore is that leaving the relationship is indicative of success or failure. Most people are quick to jump to the conclusion that completing a relationship is a sign of failure. I am not. As a long-time student and teacher of the internationally acclaimed spiritual text A Course in Miracles, I am far more inquisitive and open-minded to the soul’s goal for the relationship, rather than to the ego’s goal.
From the perspective of the soul, one enters every relationship to see and celebrate the beauty, completeness, wholeness and innocence of the Real Self in another, and thus one is able to see the same in oneself. Conversely, the ego, which is founded on belief in scarcity, comes into a union to get that which it believes is missing.
So how do we know when it is time to leave or stay in the relationship? In all honesty, I cannot count the number of times that I have asked myself this same question. And I can assure you from personal experience and from watching couples complete their unions that when you know, you know. After such clarity, and when the knowing comes from your soul and heart, you feel calm and peaceful with the answer. This peace is present even though there still may be pain from the loss of the dream of what may have been. The peace is also present in spite of the uncertainty of how and when the decision or knowing will be acted upon.
Once you do know that it is time to allow the “dance” to end, a space of certainty begins to envelop you. For some, this happens quickly, and for others, it takes weeks, months and even years. I have experienced them all! However, the knowing part of you is patient, gentle and kind, and it waits for the perfect moment to say the words to your partner.
For me, the knowing comes with a feeling of fulfillment and a sense of completion, and some joy with the recognition that a partnership was successful in soul terms. If this is where you are at now, then the “clock” of completion has started “ticking” towards your new life. If it is not where you are at, let me see if I can help you become clearer through exploring the following questions I pose to individuals in my private practice.
Ask yourself:
* What are my top goals, values, priorities and dreams? (These are identifiable by where you spend the most time, energy, money and effort each day)
* What are the top goals, values, priorities and dreams of my partner? (Ask yourself, does he or she read a lot or always watch sports? Is financial freedom a must? Do the kids’ needs come before all else? These are pointers to what makes your partner happy.)
* What past hurt or resentment am I hanging onto?
* What is preventing me from communicating with my mate openly and honestly?
* What do I need in order to overcome my fear of sharing my feelings?
* What do I think I’ll gain by leaving the relationship?
* Can I look my mate in the eyes and say, “I love you completely and I have done everything to make our partnership great”?
* What is the personal goal, desire or dream I want to have fulfilled by my partner that he or she seems unable or unwilling to fulfill?
* What is a personal goal, desire or dream my partner has that I am unwilling or unable to fulfill?
Answering these powerful questions will offer you insights to support either the move towards building more intimacy within your union, or the clarity on the potential need to accept the completion of your union. Remember, the ego always has us believe that it is better “out there,” so don’t leave a relationship with that as the illusion!
